Personally, I would rather play an acoustic guitar than an electric guitar. I just love the feel and the sound you get from this kind of guitar. It’s great to play anywhere and its sound doesn’t drown out the vocals or other instruments like an electric guitar can. It’s much easier to bring it along with you than an electric guitar and also requires far less maintenance.

If you so chose to learn to play acoustic guitar, at first it will be difficult but will become easier if you practice it regularly. Believe me, after a couple years of steady practice you will be playing it with ease. Just follow these five rules and you’re likely to learn it with much success:

1.    Before you start acoustic guitar lessons purchase a rather cheap guitar that you feel comfortable with playing. You need not sink a whole lot of money into a fancy, new guitar. Consider a more expensive guitar once you’re serious about playing and you’re at a more advanced level.

2.    Pick a good time of day to play. You’ll want to choose a time when you’re least likely to be disturbed and you can fully devote that time to playing. Practice 5-7 days per week. Never attempt to play for more than an hour. You’ll become more likely to pick up bad habits.

3.    Grasp the guitar and hold it how it correctly. Become more familiar with the sound each string produces by striking one string at a time. Work your way down the string then back up by picking one string at a time.

4.    Once you become well acquainted with the strings, focus on the guitar’s neck. Practice playing new notes one by one. Check the position of your left hand and pay attention to how the note sounds.

5.    When you’re ready, move onto playing individual chords. First, learn the simple two or three fingered chords and progress from there. These chords are the “E Minor”, “A Minor”, and “D Minor”. Chords are a great place to start when learning acoustic guitar basics.

The most traditional method of taking acoustic guitar lessons is through a private instructor at least once a week. I’m not saying you shouldn’t consider this, but personally, I’m not in favor of it either. This is because there are several disadvantages to private lessons. These lessons are rather expensive, at least $150 for 2 lessons each week. That was the rate when I thought about taking lessons myself. You’ll also be spending several hours per week traveling to meet with the instructor. The instructor will work along with you and will be there if you get stuck, which is nice. Still, I’ve seen many instructors who care more about the money than they do teaching. You must also realize that these instructors work with a number of other beginners and may not be as “personal” as you’d like them to be. Still, that varies from one instructor to another.

Some beginners struggle learning and playing in front of another individual whose skill level is way above theirs. Many of them would just rather learn by themselves which I found to be quite common. When I refused to spend money on private lessons, I tried to learn on my own. This did not work out too well because I simply didn’t know enough about the basics to teach myself acoustic guitar lessons.

If you can’t afford private lessons or simply refuse to go that route, you need not go it alone. There are some handy online and print resources such as Jamorama Acoustic. This course offers downloadable videos and furnishes a beginner with all the material, techniques, tricks, and lessons needed to get started. In fact, I learned a lot of valuable information from this site.

These online acoustic guitar lessons teach you nearly everything a private instructor can teach. Not to mention that they charge only a one-time fee plus enable you to use their course whenever your schedule permits. Learning online is more cost and time effective than taking private lessons. The material is just as good. And with the fast-forward and rewind features in their videos, there’s nothing handier than that when you’re learning to play.

I strongly feel that an online course is much better than taking private lessons. Taking private lessons can easily cost you $1,000 to $2,000 per year, especially when the monthly lessons cost $150. Yet some prefer learning via a private instructor. As long as you feel OK learning how to play the acoustic guitar online then I’m confident that a home study course would be just right for you.

How you choose to learn is up to you. This all depends on how much time and money you’re willing to invest while you learn to play the acoustic guitar.

Today it has become a trend to learn more and more new instruments and flute is among them. Today parents are also encouraging their children to learn flute in Singapore and to take part in the competitions worldwide. Before buying a new flute for your child, make the arrangements first to hire the best flute instructor so that you can give your child the best flute lessons.

The easiest way to impart your child flute lessons is by the help of a flute teacher. Before selecting a best flute teacher in Singapore you should carry out proper survey and consult all the references. There should not be any lowering of standards when it comes to finding the right flute teacher. You should prefer that teacher only who has deep knowledge and experience in the field.

It is necessary to provide the complete instruction set to the child before he attempts to assemble or play the instrument. They should know how to reach the keys without any strain in their neck and hands.

Generally for the beginners a flute with the curved head joint is recommended by the teachers also. Many times it has been observed that the smaller children find it hard to make the switch to the straight head joint quickly enough. It will become easier with maturity not just in stature but also in musical ability of the child. A flute novice should always be conscious of the right posture when playing the instrument. • First of all, you must buy the beginner’s flute book if you are not able to select the instructor for your child. One very helpful book will be the “First Division Band Method” written by Fred Weber. Besides this, parents can also give their children books that teach about the fingering techniques and act as a fingering guide. You can also search for various books on the scales.

• When they have read the book, they should then be encouraged to practice by making proper noises using their mouth piece. This exercise also requires them to blow air across each of the holes of the flute. Pursing the lips loosely helps to make a low tone and pursing them tight and then blowing them sharply makes a kind of a higher tone.

• The fingering charts that are provided in various books can be used by the children to practice the scales.

After practicing without flute, now children should try to practice the first song with the help of the flute.

Singing nowadays, are thought to be just another common hobby of children. There is a conscious push from teachers and parents for children to take up singing because of the many lasting benefits it gives. Vocal lessons for the children should be made very interesting else they will never enjoy them and will feel bored. As a result they will start to run away from the lessons. Vocal lessons bring many rewards to the students. Some of them are given below:

Different voice lessons are taught to children 12 years old or younger, or those not yet in their adolescence. The adolescents also have their own vocal classes. Absolutely nothing compares to the electric guitar. Even though the acoustic guitar has a great sound and enjoyable to play, the electrical guitar still is superior. I started playing it in fifth grade when I had my very first guitar and had been obsessed with it since. It’s been 11 years now since I started playing.

You may think, “Yeah, it would be great if I knew how to play the electric guitar, but what’s the use in learning now? I’m too old.” That’s 100% false. In fact that’s a giant myth! You’re never too old to learn to play an electric guitar. Also, don’t give in to a second big myth: “Playing the electric guitar is too hard.” Once you try it, you’ll find it easier than you’ve ever imagined.
Yes, learning electric guitar requires practice and dedication on your part. You must be really fired up about playing each day. It also requires a great amount of enthusiasm and commitment on your behalf. Without much motivation, you’ll never learn more than a few simple songs.

There are four major things you must consider when contemplating learning to play the electric guitar. First, you purchase an electric guitar you feel comfortable playing. Second, you must choose a room or space where you’d like to practice. This may be your bedroom or an isolated room in the basement. Third, seek out a private instructor or online course to teach you lessons. The fourth, and hardest step: practice up on what you’ve learned.
Next you may be wondering what training options are best for you. Guitar lessons come in many forms as receiving private instruction, reading books, watching videos, downloading ebooks, or playing PC software games. Some are fabulous resources while others can simply be money down the drain. You just have to be careful as to what advice you choose to follow. With a wide range of lessons for electric guitar, there is no excuse for not learning how to play.

Many beginners choose to learn via private lessons. As long as they can afford it and don’t mind the arrangements, there’s nothing wrong with taking lessons from personal instructors. Many of these teachers are professional guitar players, themselves and have a great deal of talent. The best thing about private lessons is they’ll sit down with you one-on-one and help you work out your problems personally. That kind of resource is hard to beat when considering alternate forms of electric guitar lessons.

Bear in mind that taking private lessons has its drawbacks and is not your only option. It’s not a big deal if you choose another form of training over private instruction. Personal teachers charge a hefty fee for electric guitar lessons for beginners and many require 2-3 half hour sessions per week. The amount you’ll pay hourly will be at least $15, but typically half hour sessions run $16. In addition to that, many will require that you do homework assignments. You’ll be required to commute to and from the instructor’s place of business at least twice, if not 5 times per week. I know what it’s like because I used to teach private lessons myself.

After researching the internet and looking through local bookstores I find that they’ll provide just as much information and resources as a private instructor will. Many of these books and online electric guitar lessons provide:

·    Information on the electric guitar and how it works
·    How to tune an electric guitar
·    Guitar lessons
·    Guitar tabs for songs
·    Techniques and advanced tricks

Learn and Master Guitar is one of my personal favorite resources. This training aid furnishes you with a DVD/CD book set with all you’ll need when you begin learning to play guitar. It’s a rock solid guide and costs much less than a private instructor.

Once you’ve purchased a guitar, picked a designated room to practice in, and found a training source you really like, it’s now time to start taking action and learn how to play the electric guitar.

Each lesson or guide you consider has a different method of teaching their lessons. All you need to do is practice hard and follow their instructions diligently. Still, there is common information you’ll receive from any resource you train through:

·    Strum evenly and consistently
·    Rest the left thumb on the bottom portion of the neck only—never on the top
·    Focus on rhythm and become familiar with the sound of each string
·    Keep your fingers close to the fret bar but never let them touch it
·    Press down hard on the string when playing a note or chord

Practicing and playing an electric guitar is much easier than other guitars make it seem. Just make sure you have solid training and stick with your commitment to keep practicing. If you do, you’ll have a solid foundation on which to advance. Again, I really liked Learn and Master Guitar and strongly recommend that you check it out. Honestly, I can say that I learned a lot more from this site than the lead guitarist in my old band learned in over 12 months of lessons. He paid over $1500 total in lessons and for Learn and Master Guitar I paid a tenth of that amount.

“I wanna rock!” This, of course, is one of the most well known lines ever spoken in regards to rock & roll. This simple statement conveys a lot of meaning. Yes, we ALL wanna rock! That’s precisely why we buy a guitar to begin with!

Sure, some people are more drawn to folk or country music, but the most people want to learn to play rock guitar. When first starting out, however, beginners usually get stuck with playing “Amazing Grace” or “Yankee Doodle”. Now, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with these classic songs, but that’s really not what most people have in mind when starting their guitar lessons.

Simple songs like these are usually taught first because they’re the easiest to learn. They give you a sense of satisfaction in knowing that you can play a song! Over time, you should evolve and progress. Learning one song at a time will progressively make things easier. You will finally be able to move on to rock guitar lessons for beginners rather than kids’ songs!

You can find lessons practically everywhere, including the internet. You can actually find a few online for free! However, the majority of lessons are found in books or on DVD’s. You can also learn a few rock songs through a private instructor if you decide to hire one. No matter how you choose to learn, all lessons teach the use of power chords. So, what is a power chord?

Power chords are those powerful chords you hear in some of the greatest rock songs. Some people like to refer to them as the “meat” of the song. It is the heavy lifting that you hear in a lot of songs. You can learn more about them when you take rock guitar lessons—especially if you learn with an electric guitar!

The great thing about power chords is that they’re easy to play when compared to most other chords. Typically, you will only need to use two fingers. Truth be told, they don’t sound good by how you play them, but rather the size of your amp. Sadly, they don’t sound amazing on practice amps, but you have to start somewhere.

As your skills begin to grow, you may be able to afford a larger amp that can handle the sound that power chords produce. Learning rock guitar will test your solo abilities.

Everybody wants to play guitar solos, and while they’re awesome, they can also be frustrating. Some even take weeks to learn, let alone master! The most important thing is to remember that your lessons are called “lessons” for a reason.  They’re not created to irritate you; rather, they’re designed to help you improve your skills.

You need to master the power chords and guitar solos if you want to try your chances of being a rock star! These two techniques are your key to playing rock music. Everybody buys an instrument because they dream of playing someday. After all, you bought yourself a guitar because you wanna rock. So get started with some good rock guitar lessons right now and practice!

Guitars are not straight-forward and simple. They are eccentric and flashy. People want to learn how to play in order to stand out.

To do that, one must first learn how to play a guitar solo in various styles—or at least in their favorite style.

Think for a moment of an average band. Sure, it can be hard to match the charisma of a lead singer, but the guitarist is always close behind in popularity. Ladies tend to go for guitarists because the guitar is awesome and hot! Typically, guys love being the guitarist because they love the solo.

It’s absolutely true! All guys like to daydream about showing off on stage to play guitar solo for five minutes! It’s practically encrypted into every guy’s DNA. It can be awesome. Even as the rest of the band continues to play, they are only playing second fiddle in the amazing creativity and presence of the lead guitarist.

If you are longing to play guitar solo, this guide will break it all down to you in simplest form.

Guitar solo are free from technique, so much of it you can’t learn from one source. When you play solo, it all comes out naturally. In fact, playing guitar solo is the closest you can get to “improve” jazz or blues.

Obviously, a lot of preparation goes into learning how to conquer guitar solo.
To begin with, you must first learn to play at an advanced or expert level. Sadly, no beginner can learn how to play solo within just a few weeks. It’s not that easy. In fact, many solo don’t look difficult, but there’s no way one can play them without complex blends, “pull-offs”, “hammer-ons”, and other expert techniques. You can learn these techniques rather quickly, but it’s more advisable to learn all the basics first.

Once you learn all the fundamentals, then the advanced techniques become much easier. If you’re interested in learning how to play guitar solo, you need to look into “pull-offs” and “hammer-ons”, because you will need to use these 2 techniques often.

Guitar solo use a lot of the high end strings, many of which are notes that are down on the lower 3rd of the guitar neck. Up until this point, you will have more than likely stuck exclusively with the top 3rd section, because that’s the location of the all the chords and power chords. For solo, the focus will change to the lower 3rd section.

Now, you’ll probably run into some complications. For instance, the frets are much closer at the bottom third than they are at the top of the neck. The margin for error is much higher. This is especially true if you have long or thick fingers. Playing guitar solo will really test the speed of your fingers. Don’t think about attempting a solo until you are an expert with strumming and shifting through the strings with ease.

The guitar solo masters will really change the tempo on just a beat and can shift from a slow solo to a frantic pace back and forth easily. However, guitar solo do take time to learn, and are generally not for beginners.

With that said, learning how to play guitar solo can be a wonderful way to expand your horizons, so learn yourself some scales, get familiar with a key or two, and get started learning a few solo!

Why do you think a great number of people want to learn to play guitar? Basically they want to learn to play rock songs. Sure, some were brought up on country or folk music and thus rather play these genres. Still, many of the most aspiring guitarists learned to play guitar so they can “jamb out” to some hard rock. As much as we’d like to, we just can’t simply perform our favorite songs without learning rock guitar. As an April Wine song says: “I Wanna Rock!” This definitely sounds simplistic but it sure has meaning.

Though we have it in our minds to learn some cool rock songs, we usually start out playing children’s songs at first. Apparently, children songs are easy to learn and give newbies the satisfaction of knowing they can play a few songs (not something they want to share with their girlfriends). So they learn to play songs like “Yankee Doodle” and “Amazing Grace”, but feel at some point, feel they’re stuck there. Not to put down children’s songs but, wait a minute, they’ll tell themselves, “This is not why I learned to play guitar!”

There must be some kind of method behind the madness of learning rock guitar. Once one makes up his mind to, he’ll soon move onto simple rock songs. For anyone just learning, they need to start out simple. After learning a few techniques and some basic songs, playing rock music is an option. For some it may seem hard to believe, but with practice and perseverance they’ll move on to a point where they can play anything their heart desires.

You can learn to play rock guitar from a number of sources. Rock lessons are available just about anywhere. Most of them can be found in books or on DVDs but there are a few available online for free. Most private instructors teach rock lessons as well.

Most likely, you’ve heard the term “power chord” used before, but do you know what it is? Power chords are those booming chords you hear in most classic rock songs. They’re technically defined as a chord containing the first root, fifth, and eighth in degree (octave) of the scale. SAY WHAT? I tend to think of power chords as the “meat” of the song. They are what give a rock song a feeling of heavy lifting. Power chords make rock songs sound great when the volume is cranked. If you’re really into hard rock music and are taking rock guitar lessons, chances are you already own an electric guitar. You’ve also found that power chords are among the easiest to learn and play. This is because all you need is two fingers to play them.

When playing power chords you’ll want to consider having a good power amp listen to them on. It isn’t how you play them but rather the size and capabilities of your amp. The small practice amps that beginners usually start out with don’t do justice in playing back power chords. Thus, once your income increases you will definitely want to purchase an amp that can deliver the quality of sound produced by power chords and guitar solos.

Speaking of guitar solos, they are very cool, but playing them can sometimes be rather frustrating. Rock guitar lessons will test your solo abilities. Some guitar solos take weeks to learn and master. One thing you must not forget is that guitar lessons are simply lessons for a purpose. They weren’t created to belittle or demoralize you. Rather, they’re designed to improve your existing skills and teach you new ones. Rock guitar lessons are no different.

Once you master meaty power chords and tricky guitar solos, you just may be ready to begin singing. And if you feel you’re not, at least you’re well on your way to playing and enjoying the tedious nature of rock and roll.

Everybody who buys a guitar does so for a reason: to play it. Anyone who has wanted to play guitar desires to play some particular genre of music. Now that you own a guitar, most likely you want to rock. Now find those rock guitar lessons and learn how to play.

So you’ve made up your mind to play songs on the guitar. Let me tell you about how I learned and how you can avoid making some common mistakes made by many other guitar players. One thing far too many beginners attempt to do is play entire songs before they’ve even learned the basics. Choosing a song you’d like to know how to play will motivate you to learn and force you to learn the basics-that’s if you go about it the right way.

There can be a number of reasons why you’d like to learn how to play songs on the guitar. One may be just to play songs for yourself while you hide out in your bedroom. Another may be to play in front of your friends, just to impress them. Perhaps, you’d like to play for customers in a local coffee shop. You may even have dreams of becoming a rock star and playing in front of thousands of people. It doesn’t really matter why. As long as you’re absolutely serious about it let’s get started.

Now I’d like to think of playing songs on guitar like playing basketball. Learning to play guitar songs is easier than a beginner may think. But learning guitar takes lots and lots of practice. It’s very important that you practice, practice, practice. This is because once you start playing basketball you’re not very skilled at it. Have you ever tried it? I have a neighbor who is only 12 years old and he can shoot baskets like a pro. That’s far better than how I shoot. You may say he has some natural talent, maybe a little, but he spends hours practicing day and night on the hoop in his parents’ driveway. You can become good at playing guitar if you practice it like he practiced basketball. It’s all a matter of perseverance and repetition.

So how do you start out playing songs on guitar? Simply start out by buying a cheap guitar, or even borrowing one. Some guitars sell for $150 new which include a practice amp, pick, strap, and an extra pair of strings. This guitar set would be perfect for beginners if they could afford it. Still, I would not recommend that someone spend a great deal of money on a high-classed guitar, especially when starting out. You can do like I did, pick up a used guitar at a garage sale. My first guitar was a Delta Acoustic with nylon strings and it only cost me $10. But if you’re really broke and can’t find a cheap guitar, chances are you know someone who already has one that you can borrow. If they use it frequently, you’ll have to work out some kind of deal with them, like washing their car. If they never use it, most likely they’ll be more than happy to loan it to you, knowing it’ll get some use.

Now that you’ve got a guitar to practice on, most likely you’ve looked it over and tried playing it. You’ve strummed it several times but the sounds you produced sounded nothing like music whatsoever. So now you ask yourself: “How are you supposed to play this thing?” You looked over the guitar and noticed it has six strings that extend down its neck, and the neck is filled with several frets. You think playing guitar songs on this thing must be really complicated. How can anyone really do that?

When learning how to play songs on the guitar you start out small. Become acquainted with all six strings by striking each one by one. Start out at the lowest string and work your way down to the highest one. Learn to distinguish between the lowest string (E) and the highest string (e). Why did the inventor of the guitar use a string called “E” and another, “e”. Was he just trying to confuse us? Who knows? Anyway the notes go in the following order starting from the top string to the bottom: first is the “E” (the lowest note) proceeded by “A”, “D”, “G”, “B”, then “e” (the highest note). To memorize these notes in sequence from the lowest note (thickest wire) to the highest (thinnest wire) just remember an acronym created by Eddie Van Halen: “Eddie Ate Dynamite, Good Bye Eddie!”

Start out by mastering the open strings on the guitar. When you’re ready, upgrade to playing regular notes. Let your left hand be your guide. Remember that the guitar neck contains a great number of frets. The first fret is the furthest from the body of the guitar. Small metal bars divide the frets. A string striking exercise helps one become familiar with the guitar. Though this exercise may seem cumbersome, it’s still important so don’t skip it. When playing a certain note your finger should press down on the string as close to the vertical metal bar as possible without touching the bar. Simply strum the string. A clear note should sound without the string vibrating. If the string should vibrate either you’re not pressing down hard enough on the string or your finger is touching the vertical metal fret bar.

You may also wonder: “How could I play guitar songs if I can’t read music?” One way is to use guitar tabs to learn particular songs instead. Guitar tabs are the easiest way to play songs on the guitar. A guitar tab will display the six strings and coexisting string numbers. So if the first number on a tab is a “2” on the “A” (second string from the top) you’d then place your finger on the second fret on the second string and strike that string.

Continue playing the riff in order of the guitar tab and soon you’ll be able to play a guitar song.

Also, if you see a guitar tab with numbers stacked one upon another that means you’re about to play a chord. A chord is when you strike more than string at once. In the case of a “3”, “5”, “3” stacked on top of each other on the “A”, “D”, “G” strings, this means that you should play the “A”, “D”, “G” strings at the same time with the corresponding tab. In this case, the third fret for A, fifth fret for D, and the third fret for G. A “0” label on the tabs means you play the string open (without pressing down on the string).

Lots of great resources exist for learning how to play guitar songs. One outstanding resource is Learn and Master Guitar. The lessons here start out rather easy then work their way up to the more advanced material.

Think small at first then gradually work your way up to the more complicated stuff. When you first pick up a guitar, you’re not going to turn into a big star like Eric Clapton. Start out with simple riffs and easy guitar chords. Once you maintain a consistent repetition playing guitar will seem more second nature. Your talents will grow to the point where you’ll be playing complicated material.

Sting Sword: The Sting Sword is the weapon of choice for that mild but adventurous Hobbit, Frodo Baggins. Sting had the ability to glow in the presence of evil Orcs.

The Sting sword is not as long as the average sword. It’s made for Hobbits! The handle is red and gold with a unique flame like emblem wrapped around it. The sword itself has a crest of runes that runs the length of the blade. This sword is a must have for collectors. Choosing a Lord of the Rings sword should start with Sting!

Hadhafang Sword of Arwen:

The Elvish princess Arwen is a beautiful character everyone loves. Her bravery helped saved the world of men and elves. Arwen carries the sword Hadhafang that she inherited from her grandmother and was later used by her father, the Elf King Elron. The blade is long and curved. The blade is inscribed with Elvish runes or writing and is light and elegant.

Boromir’s Sword:

The son of the steward, Boromir brought honor to his household by giving his life for Frodo and his friends. Not a major character but a sincerely brave one Boromir made victory possible for the heroes. The sword is a warrior’s sword. It has a long blade with a sturdy handle.
