Masterpieces/UNIQUE pieces written for one of the 3 symphony orchestra sections(not the strings)?

Perhaps my question is ineptly phrased. What I’m asking for are compositions, that were written for one of the groups/sections of the standard symphony orchestras three(3) sections, excluding the strings: a harp inclusion is permissible; but no suites for strings, string quartets, quintets, etc.

Given, the horns(French)are generally considered to be a member of either the brass or woodwinds.

So, music written for brass choirs, woodwind ensembles and percussion – what(?) ensembles?

That for percussion I would imagine would be the most difficult to come up with a good nominee for; should be the most fun.((no “real far out” instruments))

Please note: no combination of any of the three; and that you’re nominees must be considered real masterpieces, or very unique.

Have fun(?)

“hfrankm”: Thanks. Exactly what I am requesting.

“Lisa”: You need a 2nd cup of coffee: “no strings”; gave you a “thumbs down”.
Alberich
“Ursula C”: Lisa is a wonderful person, and I love her too. But have become annoyed with responders to my questions, that do not follow the guide-lines: no matter who they are.

So, you are free to respond, or not; but I will not apologize.

Alberich
“Pianist D’aurellis”: I don’t know your age – checked your profile – but I’ve proabably been around much longer than you(73 yrs.); and can assure you that when I was in school, they in any text referenced or authority invoked, always considered them to be members of either section. And I certainly agree, that they are the best brass instrument.

Tried my hand at performing on them; but turned out, I was probably the worlds worst ever, would be Horn player.

Acordeón del Diablo (Francisco el Hombre – Pacho Rada) Part 10

hundreds of new songs on his travels, many of which have become classics. He is known as the man who invented “son”, one of the four Vallenato rhythms. However, Pacho was already too old by the time that musicians could get rich playing Vallenato music, when it became popular outside the province due to the marihuana boom in the seventies. At the age of 72 he became homeless once again. His children helped him to put up a simple house on the outskirts of Santa Maria, where he still lives. …
