Vallenato Music

I want to apply for the Arts Concentration program at my school for music, which puts a lot of emphasis on the classical genre.

I was just wondering, how relevant is classical music to rock, alternative, hard rock, and metal? I know the rules of music should apply to all genres, but will I be able to apply what I learn about classical music to the rock music I hope to compose in the future?

Just wondering.

Think about it,
its just computer techno generated beats,
for most pop singers, they dont even repeat the singing of the chorus they just sing it once, and then its edited and repeated over and over.

There are few people in pop that actually do good songs with musical credibility.

Mainstream huggers just dont want to try and like other music.
Like Good rock music, heavy metal (which people say is all just loud noise when it has produced masterpieces)

Oh and wheh i say pop that does include rap music because its exactly the same thing.
And just because the jonas brothers can hit a few chords on guitar doesnt make them rock stars. As well as all pop rock bands who people think are sooo talented.

Btw im saying pop, in general, not all pop.
